How to grant us Meta access
To set up and manage your Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns and/or organic activity, we’ll need access to your Meta assets (like your Facebook page and Instagram account).
This page walks you through everything you need to prepare before we send our access request. Once you complete these steps, you can simply share the required details with us, and we’ll take it from there.
Before You Begin
- If you already have a Facebook Business Page, you can skip straight to Step 3.
- If you already have both (Facebook Page and Instagram), you can skip directly to Step 3.
Note: If you only have an Instagram account, Meta still requires your business to have a Facebook Page (which requires a personal Facebook profile). These are needed to create and manage your business assets inside Meta Business Suite.
Create a personal Facebook Profile
Meta requires every business asset, like a Facebook page, to be owned and controlled by a personal Facebook profile. Your personal profile will not be publicly visible on your Facebook Page, and it will not appear to your customers or followers. It is used only on the backend.
If you don’t already have a profile:
- Visit facebook.com
- Create a personal profile with your real information
- Log in once your profile is set up
This profile will remain private; we do not need access to it.
Create your Facebook Business Page
Your Facebook Business Page is the foundation for your Meta business assets and is required for both organic and paid activities.
To create your Page:
- Log in to your personal Facebook profile
- In the left navigation bar, click Pages, then click Create → Public Page
- Enter your business name, category, and details
- Save your Page
Open Meta Business Suite
Meta Business Suite is where you manage your business assets, including your Facebook Page and Instagram account.
To access it:
- Go to business.facebook.com
- Log in using your personal Facebook profile
- Select your Business Page once inside the dashboard
Check your Facebook Page and Instagram are connected
Before you send us your Business Portfolio ID, please make sure your Facebook Page (and Instagram account, if you have one) are correctly linked to your Business Portfolio. This ensures that when you give us access, we can also manage these assets.
4a. Check your Facebook Page
- In Meta Business Suite, click Settings (bottom left).
- In the left menu, go to Accounts → Pages.
- If you see your Facebook Page listed here: Everything is set up correctly. No further action needed for the Page.
- If you do NOT see your Facebook Page listed:
- Click the + Add button in the top right.
- Select Add an existing Facebook Page.
- Follow the prompts to select your Page by either searching for your Page name or pasting the URL of your Facebook Page.
- Click Next.
- On the "Review people with Page access" screen, you don’t need to change anything – just click Next.
- Agree to the terms and click Add Page.
- You should now see your Page listed under Accounts → Pages.
4b. Check your Instagram account (if you have one)
- Still in Settings, under Accounts, click Instagram accounts.
- If you see your Instagram account listed here: You’re all set; no further action needed for Instagram.
- If you do NOT see your Instagram account listed:
- Click the + Add button in the top right.
- Agree to the terms and click Add Instagram account. (Note: A Professional Instagram account is required. If your account is currently personal, Instagram will convert it to a professional account during this process.)
- Log in to your Instagram account when prompted and confirm.
- You should now see your Instagram account listed under Accounts → Instagram accounts.
Find your Business Portfolio ID
Your Business Portfolio ID is a unique number assigned to your business. We’ll need this ID to send you the access request.
To find it:
- In Meta Business Suite, open Settings
- Click Business info
- Copy your Business Portfolio ID
Share your details with us
Once you’ve located everything, send the following to your account manager:
- ✓ Your Business Portfolio ID
- ✓ The full name on your personal Facebook profile
- ✓ The email address used for that Facebook profile
After we receive your information, we’ll send an access request directly through Meta Business Suite.
Approve our access request
As soon as we send the request, we’ll let you know, and you’ll see a notification in Meta Business Suite.
To approve:
- Go to Meta Business Suite → Settings → Requests
- Look for our access request
- Click Approve
This securely grants us the permissions we need, without ever sharing your login details.
